Insolvency management in Scotland ‘won’t be nationalised’

Posted in IVA News on 26th January 2010.

The Scottish Government has ‘retreated from a proposal to part-nationalise the management of personal insolvencies by transferring work from the private sector to its agency the Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB)’, heraldscotland.com reports.

The part-nationalisation would have made up part of fast-track legislation intended to prevent borrowers struggling in the recession being evicted from their homes – but Community Safety Minister Fergus Ewing has said that he has “no desire to nationalise the service”.
